Spacewar!
The first Spacewar! program for the Nova was created by Henry Burkhard III and demonstrated at the Fall Joint Computer Conference (FJCC) in 1968. It ran on an original Nova with 4KW of memory with a simple custom display interface and simple user controllers. It was a powerful demonstration for the new computer and was even mentioned in one of Data General's first magazine ads.
The Spacewar! program below was created by Freddie White in 1977 and eventually shown at VCF (Vintage Computer Festival) 1.
A modified version of this program was demonstrated on a Nova at Wild Hare Computer System's "Nova At 50 Celebration" in 2018 as an homage to the very first 1968 Nova Spacewar! program.
